The Avengers is on track to make a billion worldwide!
Hi guys! Sorry if I'm a little late with this post! I've been busy with finals and the school year ending lol. Anyway, the box-office smash hit The Avengers has already made 803 million dollars worldwide and is expected to hit one billion dollars by this Sunday! Check out BoxOfficeMojo for the full report!
My Thoughts:
This is wonderful news! This is a Marvel fans' dream come true. The movie is both universally praised and making a killing at the box-office. This can only mean good things for the upcoming slate of movies that Marvel has planned and will be planning. Not only that, But I think this may convince Warner Bros. to finally move ahead with a Justice League movie! Here's to the future of comic books on the silver screen!
So, what do you guys think? Does this news excite you? Comment below! Later!

Prometheus Rating Confirmed!
Hey, welcome back! Alright, we have a report from Collider that Ridley Scott's new sci-fi movie, Prometheus, will be rated R! Check out the article for more information!
My Thoughts:
I've heard that many fans of Ridley Scott wanted this movie to be rated R, kinda like how his previous Alien movies were. It seems like they're pretty happy with this news! I myself didn't really care that much, because it doesn't matter to me what a movie is rated as long as it's good. But, this rating does imply that this will be in tone with the Alien movies, and I liked those, so I think this could very well be a good sign!
As usual, leave your comments below and tell me what you guys think! See you next time!

New The Dark Knight Rises Trailer is Here!
Hello again! The new trailer for Christopher Nolan's epic conclusion to his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is here and ready to be viewed. The trailer came out during the beginning of the film's viral campaign. The trailer will also be played in front of The Avengers which comes out this weekend. Check out the trailer above!
My Thoughts:
While I do think the trailer is pretty good, and am anticipating the movie, I still felt a little underwhelmed from it. I was expecting it to be a little more "epic" you could say, and I felt it really didn't do it there. While Bane's voice is pretty cool, I really don't like what they did with it. It doesn't really sound like he's talking there and more like his voice is dubbed over. Also, I'm sorry but, I'm still not sold on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I don't think I'll be able to make a final judgement on her until the movie comes out. On the other hand, I do like the stuff with Joseph Gordan-Levitt. It appears that his character may have some importance in the film, so I'm excited to see what he does. Overall, I thought it was a good trailer, but I feel like it could have been better.
So, what do you guys think? Do you like the trailer? Do you not like it? Leave your thoughts in the comments below! See all of you next time!

The Dark Knight Rises Viral Campaign Starts!
Welcome back! Some of you might remember when The Dark Knight was released back in 2008, it had a big viral campaign to build up excitement for the film. Well, Warner Bros. is repeating history and doing another viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan's epic conclusion to his Batman trilogy! Check out the film's official webpage to look at what the studio has planned!
My Thoughts:
I have to say, it's the little things like this that get me excited for a movie! I already am anticipating The Dark Knight Rises, but I just love it when studios put a little creativity into their marketing campaigns. I liked the viral campaign for The Dark Knight, so I'm hoping this one is as good as that one. I can't wait to see the film when it comes out on July 20th!
What are your guys' thoughts? Do you like the idea of viral campaigns? Do you not? Are you just interested in seeing the movie? Give your thoughts below! Catch you later!

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation Poster!
Hey everyone! Alright, so today I have a new international poster for the upcoming movie G.I. Joe: Retaliation! The upcoming action blockbuster, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis, will be released in theaters on June 22, 2012. Check out the poster above!
My Thoughts:
I'll be honest, I actually enjoyed the first G.I. Joe movie, even though not many others did. It wasn't perfect, but it was an enjoyable action flick. I was skeptical on whether I would want to see a sequel or not, but this movie actually looks pretty good from the trailers. I always enjoy watching Bruce Willis in action movies like Die Hard and Dwayne Johnson is also sometimes fun to watch in action flicks too. If this movie gets decent reviews, I might just check it out!
What do you guys think? Do you like the poster? Not like it? Does the movie interest you? Comment below and say what you think! See you guys next time!

New Interview with Joss Whedon!
Welcome back, guys! Alright, now I have a neat little interview with The Avengers director, Joss Whedon! He took some time out from his busy schedule during the marketing blitz to talk with some college newspapers about his experience making the film. Check out the interview below!
http://kykernel.com/2012/04/22/q-and-a-with-director-of-the-avengers/
My Thoughts:
I think this is a pretty cool interview. I've already read some other interviews given by Joss regarding this movie, and the more I read from him, the more I love him. He really seems like he was the right guy for this gig. I also agree with him that some summer movies nowadays do tend to be a little cynical. Some either rely too much on spectacle and big over the top action with CGI rather than story, and others just take themselves way too seriously on purpose because that's what a good chunk of the general audience seems to like. There should be more movies out there with both a good story and characters while also having a sense of fun and excitement. If you mix those together, you have a recipe for a great film and blockbuster! Overall, Joss seems like a guy that really loves what he does. Since I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself, I always love to hear from people in the industry who love what they do! It's always encouraging to hear these kinds of comments!
Per usual, I encourage you guys to leave comments below and tell me what you think! See ya later!

New The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Coming Soon?

Hi guys! Happy Thursday lol! Alright, so rumor has it that a new trailer for Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, should be hitting cinemas very soon. This comes from a statement that was tweeted by British producer Danny Allen. The tweet is as follows:
There's going to be a DARK KNIGHT RISES trailer hitting cinemas very very soon. Had word that some cinemas have already received it.
Whether this is true or not remains to be seen. I guess will find out pretty soon!
My Thoughts:
This is pretty exciting news! This movie is my second most anticipated film this summer, so hearing that a new trailer maybe out soon is awesome news! While I did like the first trailer, link here if you haven't seen it yet, it didn't exactly "wow" me as I had hoped it would. It was a good trailer, but I didn't think it was all that exciting. I'm hoping this new one "wows" me more and is better than the last one. Knowing Mr. Nolan's previous track record, I fully expect and hope that happens.
So, what are your guys' thoughts? Does this news excite you? Does it not? Are you looking forward to this movie? Comment and share your thoughts below! See you guys next time!

New The Amazing Spider-Man Poster and Banner!

Hi guys! Today, I got a brand new poster and banner for the upcoming July release The Amazing Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb! The poster and banner were released by Sony Pictures on the movie's Facebook Page. Click on the link to go there and check them out!
My Thoughts:
I think these are pretty cool! Like I said in a previous post, I wasn't too sure about them restarting this franchise so soon after the original series ended. But, I have been impressed with some of the clips, trailers, and other assorted marketing devices. If the movie actually gets positive reception, I definately think that I'll check it out in the theater! I probably would have anyway, since Spider-Man is one of my favorite characters.
Tell me what you guys think of the new poster and banner down below! Like it? Dislike it? Share your thoughts! See you all next time!

The Avengers First Reactions Hit!

Wow, two posts in one night? Yeah, this bit of news got me so excited that I just had to report on it now lol. Anyway, The Avengers World Premiere was last night, attended by people involved in the movie, a few celebrities, and journalists from various media outlets. The journalists are not allowed to give their full reviews til closer to the end of the month, but they were allowed to tweet their initial reactions. You guys should know the drill by now haha. Leave comments below and tell me what you think! See Ya!
Batman and Catwoman Grace the cover of EW!

Hey guys! Alright, so here we have the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly issue, which showcases their Summer Movie Preview! On the cover, we have Christian Bale as Batman and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman from Christopher Nolan's upcoming third film in his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. Use the link below to check out EW's website to hear more about the issue, and the upcoming movie:
http://popwatch.ew.com/2012/04/11/this-weeks-cover-the-dark-knight-rises-headlines-our-2012-summer-movie-preview-issue/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ew%2Fpopwatch+%28Entertainment+Weekly%2FEW.com%27s%3A+PopWatch%29
My Thoughts:
This cover is pretty good! This and The Avengers are my two most anticipated films this summer, and I think I may pick up this issue when it's available. Christian Bale looks cool as Batman, but I'm still not sold yet on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Then again, I wasn't sure about Heath Ledger as The Joker either, so she may surprise me!
What do you guys think of this? As usual, leave your thoughts in the comments below! See you next time!

First Battleship Review Hits!

Hey guys! The first review for the upcoming board-game based blockbuster Battleship has hit the net! This review comes from website Matt's Movie Reviews. Check out the link below to read the review:
http://www.mattsmoviereviews.net/battleship.html
My Thoughts:
This review pretty much says what I thought this film would be. I didn't really think a movie like this would have any high-class script writing, but that's not what this movie is supposed to be. This is supposed to be a summer popcorn blockbuster, and judging by the trailers, the movie has set that goal well. Not sure if I'll see this one in theaters, but it sounds like it may be a lot of fun to watch!
As usual, tell me what you guys think in the comments below! I'll see you guys next time!

New The Amazing Spider-Man Clip
Hi guys! Sorry if this post is a couple of days late! Anyway, we have here a new clip from the upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man franchise starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone that premiered on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Check out the clip up above!
My Thoughts:
You know, I'm still not sure if it was a great idea to re-do the Spider-Man series so early. Maybe it's because I'm still used to Tobey Maguire as Spidey, since I really liked the first two movies he did. Wasn't a fan of the third one. That, and Spider-Man is actually one of my favorite comic-book characters. But, I actually think this clip is pretty good. It's giving a little hint of what to expect from the relationship between Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and it seems like they may have some good chemistry. Here's hoping that the filmmakers do the character justice!
What do you guys think of the clip? Do you like it? Not like it? Say your reaction in the comments below! See all of you next time!

The Avengers Set Visit

Hi guys! For this post, I have a set visit report from Collider for Marvel's The Avengers. All the major news sites are now posting their set reports due to the embargo on them being lifted today. This particular set visit is an interview between Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans, two of the film's stars. Check out the interview and other set report items from the link below!
http://collider.com/the-avengers-robert-downey-jr-chris-evans-interview/155980/
My Thoughts:
I think this is pretty cool! Since this is my most anticipated film this summer, I have loved reading all the behind the scenes stuff about it, especially the quotes from the actors and other crew members. I actually laughed at this interview because of some of the things RDJ and Mr. Evans have said. They both seem like really cool guys in real life and I can't wait to see the chemistry between them on screen.
So, what do you guys think of the set visits? Leave a comment below and tell me what you think! See you guys next time!

The Avengers: Behind the Scenes
Hey guys! Alright, so we have a neat little video right here. Norton Anti-Virus has teamed up with Marvel to bring a special behind the scenes video of their upcoming blockbuster The Avengers together. Check it out above!
My Thoughts:
I think that this is pretty cool! I've always loved these behind the scenes videos for movies because I think it's cool to see how it all comes together. Since this is something I hope to do one day, I think these videos are a good way to show me what I should expect when working on something, be it a tv show, film, or anything else. This being an Avengers behind the scenes makes it more awesome lol.
What do you guys think? Do this behind the scenes interest you? Does it not? Are you not sure? Say what you feel in the comments below! Later!

Men in Black 3 Aliens

Hey guys! We have some new images from the upcoming third installment of the Men in Black franchise, coming from fansite ComicBookMovie.com. Here's the link for the images:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/nailbiter111/news/?a=56872
These images show legendary visual effects artist Rick Baker and the retro alien designs he created for the film. Check them out above!
My Thoughts:
I have to say, I'm liking the look of this! If you've seen the trailer for this movie, you probably know that this new movie involves Agent J (Will Smith) going back in time to the 1960's. From what I read, Mr. Baker wanted the aliens in that era to resemble the ones you might see in those cheesy 1960's sci-fi films. I think he nailed it! I've always enjoyed the MIB films, and this one looks to be a lot of fun!
What do you guys think? Do you like the look of the aliens? Do you not? Does the film interest you? Leave your comments below! Dig ya later!

New Trailer for Prometheus
Welcome back! Seem to have quite a few trailer posts, huh? Well, here we are with the new trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming science fiction film, Prometheus! Check it out up above!
My Thoughts:
I gotta say, this was a pretty awesome trailer! I've always been a fan of science fiction, so this looks right up my alley. Ridley Scott has always been an amazing director with such films as Alien, Blade Runner, Legend, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down, so I expect nothing different from him this time. From the info I read, this new film takes place in the same universe as the Alien series, but is not directly connected to it. Seems like kind of a cool concept. With actors such as Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, and Michael Fassbender (who played Magneto in X-Men: First Class, another good film), I expect some strong performances to be present. All in all, this looks to be a great film.
What do you guys think? Do you think the film looks good? Do you not? Not sure? Give your thoughts in the comments below! Later!

New Dark Shadows Trailer
Hello again! Here we have the new trailer for Dark Shadows, Tim Burton's upcoming film adaption of the classic gothic soap opera starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins. Check it out above!
My Thoughts:
Now, I usually like Burton's films. Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic and Beetlejuice is a cool film. Depp is usually very good in his roles too, examples being Jack Sparrow and Edward Scissorhands. I'm not very knowledgable about the original Dark Shadows show, but I do know that it was a soap opera featuring vampires and other horror-specific elements. When I heard Burton was doing a new version of this, I thought he would have great potential to make this a good film, since it seems like his style. But, the thing is, I'm not so sure about this after watching the trailer. The movie seems like it has way too much of a comedic tone, and from what I know, the original show wasn't so comedic. I always liked Burton as a director, but I can honestly say that his recent offerings haven't lived up to what he used to do in the 90's. This doesn't seem like it will be any different. But, who knows? Maybe this trailer is misleading and the film could turn out better than I expect. If the film gets good reviews, I'll probably consider checking it out.
What do you guys think of the trailer? Does it look good to you? Does it not? Say what you think in the comments below. See you next time!

New Battleship Trailer
Hey there! The new trailer for the upcoming adaption of the board-game, Battleship, is now out and ready for viewing. Check out the trailer above!
My Thoughts:
I'll be honest, I'm not so sure about this one. This has potential to be either really bad or somewhat decent. I personally think it may be an okay "dumb movie", meaning it will probably be one of those films where you just turn off your brain for a couple of hours. I'm getting a pretty strong Transformers vibe from this trailer, too. Ironic, because Hasbro, who did Transformers, is also doing this. I might check it out once it comes to On Demand. I don't know if I'll spend money to see it in theaters. If I do, it'll probably be a matinee. But, you do get an awesome actor in Liam Neeson.
So, what do you guys think of the trailer? Did you like it? Dislike it? Would you spend money to see this? Sound off in the comments below! See you all next time!

The Avengers Run-Time Confirmed

Hey guys! I thought for my first post, I'd report on something related to my personally most anticipated film this summer, The Avengers. This news comes from an article on Collider. Here's the link for the article:
In this lengthy article, director Joss Whedon announces that the official run-time for the well-anticipated superhero team-up film is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Whedon also says that his first cut of the film was 3 hours long. That's approximately 45 minutes shorter than the original cut. The reason those minutes were cut from the finished film? They were pretty much filler scenes with extra baggage that he personally loves, but feels that they didn't really do anything to move the plot forward or add any benefit to the film. Whedon says that this kind of baggage is okay to do in a television series, since you have a whole season to tell a story, but for a film, it's not really the best thing to put in. Check out the rest of the article for some more Avengers related goodness!
My Thoughts:
I think this is a solid run-time for this kind of film. I was hoping it would be about 15 minutes longer, but I can live with 2 hours and 15 minutes. Joss Whedon did say that each member of the titular team would get a fair share of screen-time and character development, so I think this run-time is just fine to juggle that and a decent amount of action. Some fans think this may not be enough time, but I trust Mr. Whedon knows what he is doing. He knows fans have been waiting for this film ever since the original Iron Man, so there's no way he'll try and screw this up. Longer is not always better, I say. While I don't mind long movies, I think they should only be long if they absolutely need to be or the longer run-time can benefit the film overall. I can think of a couple of films that were either 2 and a half or 3 hours long and really didn't need to be. One example is Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The final battle scene in that film went on for WAY too long, and I kept thinking to myself, "is this ever gonna end?". Peter Jackson's King Kong is another example. That movie really did not have to be 3 hours long. But anyway, I feel like this run-time is just right for The Avengers.
So, what do you guys think? Do you think this is a good run-time for the film? Is it too long? Too short? Give your thoughts in the comments below! See ya next time!
